MPCA Umpires

Next Umpires Meeting

The next gathering will be the end of season barbecue at Stan Goodman's house, 16 Playfield Grove, Mornington on Sunday 11 April, 2010 from 2:00pm onwards. All meat is provided. Please bring a chair and a salad, if you can. Wives and significant others are most welcome.

Do you want to become an umpire?

Anyone interested in becoming an umpire in the MPCA should contact the Director of Umpiring, Graeme Robinson on 5975 5542 or 0418 534 735. Training sessions will be arranged for anyone who has not previously umpired.

Thanks to Volunteers

On behalf of the Umpires' Association and the Board of the MPCA we would like to thank those people who volunteered to stand with us during both the Junior and Senior Finals. Your assistance has been invaluable and we hope that you have enjoyed yourselves. Perhaps you will volunteer again in future years, or maybe it is time to pull up stumps on your playing days and possibly take up umpiring on a full time basis. If you are ready to go full time, feel free to contact us before the next season starts. Our AGM will be in August. Details will appear on this page during July.

Working With Children Check

All umpires are now required to have a Working With Children Check done. Application forms are available from Post Offices. You will need to supply a passport style photograph. Make sure that you indicate that you are a Volunteer, as there will then be no cost. You also need to list the MPCA as the body that you will be working with. When your form is lodged, you will be given a form acknowledging receipt of your application. This covers you until your card arrives in about four to five weeks. Dave Bewley needs to know the number on your receipt for our database. Remember that you cannot be appointed to games unless you do this.
